Caesarstone to present the Superhouse – an open house installation commissioned from Producks design studio for Design Shanghai 2017
8th-11th of March
March 2017: Leading quartz manufacturer Caesarstone presents Superhouse, an open house installation inspired by traditional Chinese culture, which will be unveiled at Design Shanghai 2017. Commissioned from Producks design studio, it features eight different Caesarstone colours. The Superhouse provides an interpretation of Caesarstone where the quartz surface, typically used for kitchen and bathroom countertops, is shaped into a creative collection of home products and transformed into both a decorative and functional material. It offers a glimpse of Caesarstone's rich colour palate and adaptability to different environments, whilst inspiring visitors to further experiment with the material in undiscovered ways.
For this installation, a black and white room divider elegantly complements traditional Chinese culture, alongside a sleek kitchen island of soft and grey tones, a hanging wall mirror designed using Caesarstone's Vanilla Noir, two cubic coffee tables with an embedded black metal frame and a perforated large dining table. This is embellished by an array of playful lego pieces that can be stacked and assembled to form different shapes, from trees to houses. Featured in the Superhouse are also Caesarstone slabs of various colours, ranging from light taupe and soft greys to bold blacks, which are hanged on the walls as decorative, art-like pieces.
“We are delighted to take part in Design Shanghai 2017 with a commission from Producks design studio that showcases the different ways that Caesarstone can be adapted to local culture, whilst preserving the material's inherent qualities. This installation will further demonstrate the ways that Caesarstone transcends and moves beyond traditional countertops and can be shaped into wide-ranging objects like room dividers, playfully shaped lego pieces and hanging mirrors, leaving even more space for creativity and imagination.” Eli Feiglin, VP of Marketing at Caesarstone
“It’s the unique sense of Caesarstone’s design that intrigued me from the very beginning. That’s why I decided to share its unparalleled beauty with our most valued customers 10 years back. Through the years, I’m proud to see designers and architects wield their creative imagination and make Caesarstone their first choice when searching for a versatile and beautiful material for countertops that can be applied to the entire interior space such as staircases and paneling.” Mingming Han, GM of Shanghai Caesar
